White Pilchard #6 Blade with Pearl 4-inch Fat Mullet Tail
The idea behind the "Cajun Slam" spinnerbait emerged when Capt. Mike was fishing with Capt. C.A. Richardson in Louisiana. Capt. C.A. lamented that most spinnerbaits could not stand up to a redfish’s vice-like jaws and after two fish would have to be discarded. It was then that the two teamed up to create a "redfish proof" spinnerbait. Using an Aqua Dream spoon and other materials found on the boat, Capt. Mike made an impromptu spinnerbait, and they proceeded to catch redfish, seatrout, and flounder, as well as black drum. Hence the name “Cajun Slam.” Over the next several months, Capt. Mike tested and improved upon the prototype until perfecting the design.
